Amaravati, Oct.31 (Maxim News): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today wrote a letter to Prime minister Narendra Modi on Polavaram irrigation project.
In his letter he urged the PM to approve the recommendations made by CWC (Central Water Commission). Noting that the Polavaram project is the lifeline of the state, he urged the center to focus on project works and the problems faced by the land ousters of the project. He told the PM that Polavaram was a national project as per the AP Reorganization Act.
Citing that the total estimated cost of the project was Rs. 55,656.87 crore as per the estimates of 2017-18, he told the PM that the project was likely to shoot up if there was any kind of delay in the release and the execution of the works. He urged the PM to build the project as per the decision of the cabinet which was taken on April 29,2014 and added that the center should bear the cost of the project if it was escalated.
