City Flood Victims Try To Commit Suicide

Hyderabad, Oct.31 (Maxim News): Alleging that the financial aid being given by the state government has been stopped, scores of the flood victims from the city staged a protest program before the residence of Uppal MLA Kaleru Venkatesh. They alleged that the monetary relief was given only to the TRS Party workers and supporters by the state government. One of the victims tried to immolate himself by pouring kerosene on his body.

However, an alert police and the local people prevented the victim from committing the suicide. On the other hand, some victims have staged protest programs at Uppal Cirlce GHMC office and Khairatabad zonal commissioner office demanding monetary relief to them. They raised slogans against the TRS party leaders and the state government. They said that they did not get any help from the state government and added that they had lost everything during the recent floods.

On the other hand, the flood victims mostly women from Mylardevpally area staged a protest program before the residence of Rajendra Nagar MLA T. Prakash Goud. They alleged that the officials of the area had siphoned off the funds meant for them. (Maxim News)
