Hyderabad, May 7: AP heavy rains alert has been issued as the Meteorological Department forecast rainfall across several districts due to the impact of a trough.
According to officials, many parts of Andhra Pradesh may receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms on Wednesday. Moreover, authorities warned of lightning activity in several districts.
The districts likely to receive rainfall include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Eluru, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, NTR, Sri Sathya Sai, YSR Kadapa, Chittoor, and Tirupati.
AP heavy rains alert for multiple districts
Meanwhile, severe heatwave conditions may continue in a few agency areas. Officials said strong hot winds are likely in GK Veedhi mandal of Alluri district and Chintoor and Gurtedu mandals of Polavaram district.
In addition, hot weather conditions may prevail in Munchingiputtu, Velerupadu, Kunavaram, and Vara Ramachandrapuram mandals. Therefore, people have been advised to remain cautious during daytime hours.
The weather department also issued safety guidelines for farmers, labourers, and cattle herders. During rain and lightning, people should avoid standing under trees or in open fields. Furthermore, residents were advised to stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to heat.
Officials urged district administrations to remain alert in vulnerable areas. The AP heavy rains alert comes amid fluctuating weather conditions across coastal and Rayalaseema regions.
