Hyderabad, May 7: Happy Wheels initiative launched by DEEP Trust aims to improve transport access for special children through the donation of a dedicated school vehicle.
The organisation introduced the initiative on May 6 and donated an 18 seater TATA Winger. The vehicle will support Sri Vidhyas Centre for Special Children in Mahendra Hills. Moreover, the initiative focuses on safe and reliable transport.
The vehicle was sponsored by Octave India as part of its CSR efforts. Officials handed over the vehicle during a formal event attended by trustees, staff, parents, and students.
Happy Wheels initiative launched to improve access
Sri Vidhyas Centre has served children with special needs for 27 years. It currently supports around 150 children with free education and care. However, transport remained a key challenge for many families.
Therefore, the new vehicle will help children attend school regularly. It will also support participation in therapy sessions and activities. In addition, it will reduce the burden on parents and caregivers.

Officials said the initiative aims to promote inclusion and equal access to education. They added that transport plays a vital role in ensuring continuity in learning. As a result, attendance levels are expected to improve.
Representatives from DEEP Trust highlighted the broader goal of building an inclusive system. They also urged corporates and individuals to support similar efforts. Furthermore, they stressed the need for better infrastructure for special children.
The Happy Wheels initiative marks a step toward addressing accessibility gaps. Authorities believe such efforts can create long term impact in education and care.
