Gonda UP, August 19: Authorities shut down a school in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda after a video of students performing a burqa dance went viral.
The incident occurred at Ausan Buzurg School in the Babanjot area on Independence Day.
According to officials, some Hindu girl students wore burqas and danced to movie songs during the programme.
Officials Seal School After Investigation
Following the video’s circulation, education officials launched an inquiry into the incident.
Block Education Officer Riyaz Ahmed conducted the investigation on the orders of local education officer Amit Kumar Singh.
Ahmed said officials had ordered the school to stop operations a week earlier.
However, the school management allegedly ignored the order and continued running the institution.
Officials subsequently closed the manager’s and principal’s offices and sealed the school’s main gate.
The matter was also reported to the district education officer.
Meanwhile, authorities shifted the affected students to nearby government and recognised schools.
