Arrangements done for Muharram: Anjani Kumar

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said elaborate arrangements have been made for the upcoming Muharram month and urged citizens to mandatorily wear masks and follow Covid-19 appropriate behaviour.

The Commissioner was speaking after a coordination meeting with the community elders and officials from the GHMC, police traffic and law and order wings at the Salarjung Museum here, on Friday.

“The Muharram procession dates back to over 400 years in the city, where all communities participate. Elaborate arrangements have been made on behalf of the police department for the 10th day of Muharram, after inputs from the community elders,” Anjani Kumar said.

Officials said police personnel from the law and order, traffic and Rapid Action Force will be deployed. Utilising the Quick Response Team, Bomb Squads and Dog Squads for safety and security is being done apart from surveillance at all strategic locations
