Asaduddin Owaisi Alleges BJP, RSS Conspiracy Over Form 7

Hyderabad: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has accused the BJP and RSS of conspiring to remove voters’ names through Form 7 applications during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Speaking in Hyderabad on Sunday, Owaisi alleged that applications were being submitted to delete voters’ names without adequate details about the applicants. He urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to investigate the matter and take immediate action against anyone misusing the process.

Owaisi warned that AIMIM would not remain silent if the alleged misuse continued. He said protests could be organised in Hyderabad as well as in New Delhi, potentially on a scale larger than demonstrations at Jantar Mantar.

The AIMIM chief called on election authorities to scrutinise the applications and verify the identities of those seeking deletions.

Owaisi Links SIR to Concerns Over NRC

Owaisi also raised objections to the SIR exercise during his recent visit to Maharashtra. He alleged that the revision process was turning into a flawed version of the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

He said his party had opposed the process from the beginning and expressed concern that it could create difficulties for ordinary citizens. He urged voters not to ignore notices or verification requirements, warning that errors or missed procedures could affect their electoral registration.

Under the Election Commission’s rules, Form 7 is used to object to the inclusion of a name or seek deletion of an existing entry from the electoral roll. Applicants must provide the relevant details and supporting information to the Electoral Registration Officer.

Owaisi’s allegations come amid wider political disputes over the SIR process and claims of attempts to remove eligible voters through bulk or questionable applications. The allegations against the BJP and RSS have not been independently established by the information available in the cited reports.

The controversy has increased pressure on election authorities to ensure that objections are genuine, properly verified and handled according to established procedures.
