“The protest planned by the AIMPLB against the Waqf Bill is correct,” Owaisi said  in his tweet,  “It is an unconstitutional bill. It takes away our religious freedom and will negatively impact the administration of Waqf properties by allowing the appointment of non-Muslims in decision-making roles.

This violates Articles 14, 26, and 25 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantee equality, religious freedom, and the right to manage religious affairs,” he added.

Owaisi further criticized the bill, accusing it of attempting to turn encroachers into legal owners of Waqf properties. He described the amendment as part of a broader agenda to marginalize Muslims and weaken their connection to their religion and religious institutions.

The protest on March 26 is expected to draw widespread participation from various Muslim organizations, with calls to reject the amendment and protect the autonomy of the Waqf system. (Maxim News)
