A.V. Ranganath stated that he has the highest regard for the courts and the country’s judicial system.
In the affidavit, Ranganath clarified that HYDRAA officials did not enter the 40-acre land located in Survey Nos. 1 and 2 of Lothukunta in Medchal Malkajgiri district. He also asserted that no demolition or any other action was carried out at the site.
Commissioner A.V. Ranganath further alleged that the petitioner attempted to mislead the court by suppressing facts and presenting false claims. Moreover, he said the affidavit reflected HYDRAA’s respect for the judiciary and expressed unconditional regret over the developments in the case.
High Court Questions Multiple Contempt Cases Against HYDRAA Commissioner
During the hearing, the Telangana High Court made significant observations regarding the conduct of the HYDRAA Commissioner.
The bench noted that nearly 63 contempt of court petitions have been filed against Ranganath so far. It questioned why such a large number of contempt cases had arisen against a single official.
The court observed that these petitions appeared to stem from actions taken without following due procedure and from the alleged violation of interim orders issued by the court.
Addressing both the HYDRAA Commissioner and the government counsel, the bench asked whether the repeated contempt petitions were the result of failing to comply with court directions and ignoring interim orders.
The matter remains under the consideration of the Telangana High Court.
