Hyderabad: The much-awaited six-lane Bachupally flyover at Bachupally X Roads under the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits was opened for public use on Monday, bringing major relief to commuters travelling along the Miyapur–Gandi Maisamma stretch.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) completed the project to ensure smoother traffic flow between Miyapur X Roads and Gandi Maisamma, a key corridor in the rapidly growing IT and residential belt.
Key Infrastructure Boost for Cyberabad Corridor
The flyover is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, cut down travel time, and improve road safety for thousands of daily commuters using this busy route.
Officials said the project will enhance connectivity in the fast-developing Bachupally–Miyapur corridor, which has seen rapid urban expansion in recent years.
Project Details
The six-lane flyover has a total length of 1.30 km and includes 19 piers and abutments. In addition, the project also features 1.30 km of two-lane slip roads to facilitate smoother entry and exit points.
The total project cost stands at Rs 65.53 crore.
Major Relief for Commuters
The Bachupally stretch is a key junction for traffic moving towards Miyapur, Nizampet, Gandi Maisamma and surrounding residential and IT hubs. With the opening of the flyover, officials expect a significant reduction in bottlenecks, especially during peak hours.
Authorities believe the infrastructure upgrade will greatly benefit daily commuters, IT employees and residents of nearby localities by improving overall travel efficiency.
