Bandi demands govt to regularise panchayat secretaries

Hyderabad, Feb.18 (Maxim News): State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar today demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao immediately regularise the services of some 10,000 Junior Panchayat Secretaries (JPS), who are working in different Gram Panchayats in the State.

In an open letter to the Chief Minister, Sanjay Kumar also demanded that the State government provide job security to all the junior panchayat secretaries in order to build mental confidence among them. He told the CM that the JPS were working hard and playing an impotent role in the development of the villages. He also told the CM that the JPS were performing ten different types of works like sanitation, Haritha Haram, tax collection and mosquito prevention in the villages. He said the secretaries were facing a lot of harassment and insults from different people, including politicians and officials. He informed the CM that some of the secretaries had committed suicides as they were not able to bear the harassment of the public representatives and officials. (Maxim News)
