Bandi Sanjay Accuses Congress, BRS Of ‘Secret Deal’

Hyderabad, Oct. 7 (Maxim News) : Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar accused the Congress and BRS of having a “secret understanding” over political and land issues in Telangana.

Speaking at a BJP-organised ‘Seva Jyoti’ rally in Karimnagar, Sanjay alleged that the Congress was using land disputes involving former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for political purposes.

He claimed the Congress government lacked the courage to act against alleged corruption during the previous BRS regime. He also accused the BRS of failing to take on the Congress government over its six guarantees.

Sanjay’s remarks came amid reports that he could soon be given a key organisational responsibility in the Telangana BJP. He said he was not seeking any party post and would accept whatever responsibility the BJP assigned to him.

Bandi Sanjay Defends ECI and SIR Process

Sanjay also criticised the Opposition over its allegations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the Election Commission.

He described the Election Commission as an independent constitutional institution and rejected allegations that it was functioning as a BJP organisation.

Sanjay said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was intended to ensure that eligible citizens receive voting rights while removing ineligible names from electoral rolls.

He questioned Opposition objections to the deletion of names belonging to deceased voters. He cited the name of former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao as an example of a deceased person whose name remained on an electoral roll.

The Union minister also alleged that Telangana had large numbers of illegal immigrants from Myanmar, Pakistan and Bangladesh before 2014. He claimed that more than 30,000 Rohingya voters were present in the Maheshwaram constituency.

These claims about the number of Rohingya and other foreign nationals on electoral rolls were made by Sanjay and were not independently established in the material available for this report.

Sanjay further accused the Congress of having a history of “vote theft” and “seat theft”. He referred to the 1946 Congress leadership process while making the allegation.

He also defended Prime Minister Narendra Modi against allegations of electoral manipulation. Sanjay said Modi had no need to indulge in such practices because he had no family or personal political succession to protect.

Sanjay urged young voters, particularly members of Generation Z, to examine the political history and governance record of different parties before forming their views.

He also criticised Opposition protests against the Election Commission and said concerns about Gyanesh Kumar should be addressed through constitutional and legal channels.
