Seized Items:

  • Xerox copy of a Bangladeshi passport (Hasibul’s)
  • Fake Aadhaar card (Jovan Chowdhury)
  • Fake birth certificate (Jovan Chowdhury)
  • Fake voter ID (Jovan Chowdhury)
  • Fake Aadhaar card (Rohan Saha)

Background of the Case:

Mohammad Hasibul, a native of Dhaka, illegally entered India four years ago through traffickers. He crossed the border from Benapole District, Bangladesh into Bongaon District, West Bengal using an unauthorized route, paying Rs. 25,000 to the traffickers. He initially stayed in South Howrah, Kolkata, working as a karate trainer and earning Rs. 20,000/month. During this time, he obtained a fake Aadhaar card using the alias Jovan Chowdhury.

In December 2023, Hasibul connected with a Hyderabad-based woman, Jaya Chowdary, via Facebook and fraudulently married her, concealing his identity. He then moved to Malakpet and began working in online garment sales and as a Zomato/Swiggy food delivery agent.

Around eight months ago, he sought help from Mohd Muqeed and other agents to acquire a fake birth certificate from Narsingi Municipality. This was arranged by D. Sudheer Kumar, who forged documents to falsely show Hasibul as being born in Ranga Reddy District. Using the birth certificate, Hasibul secured a voter ID and then applied for a new Aadhaar card, attempting to fully establish a false Indian identity.

Later, Hasibul helped Rohan Saha, another Bangladeshi national working as a tourist guide in Kolkata, to enter Hyderabad illegally in March 2025, offering him shelter and arranging a fake Aadhaar card as well. Rohan’s wife was pregnant at the time, and they intended to settle in India using fraudulent identity documents.

Both Hasibul and Rohan, with the help of local agents, manipulated government systems to obtain forged Indian identity documents, allowing them to live and work in the country illegally.
