Hyderabad, Sept. 27: Banks across India are expected to face disruptions from September 28 to 30 due to a three day strike called by bank employee unions.
The United Forum of Bank Unions has called the strike to press for a five day workweek, pension reforms and employment related demands.
Bank Strike to Affect Branch Services
The strike is expected to affect public sector banks and regional rural banks. However, private sector banks may experience fewer disruptions, depending on their operations.
During the strike, customers may face difficulties with several branch services, including cash deposits and withdrawals, passbook updates and cheque processing. Demand drafts, KYC services, loan processing and locker facilities may also be affected.
However, digital banking services are expected to remain available. These include UPI payments, mobile banking and internet banking.
Additionally, ATMs and cash deposit machines are expected to continue operating, allowing customers to access some banking services during the strike.
