Hyderabad, Oct 12 (Maxim News): A key step has been taken in Telangana toward achieving 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes in education, jobs, and politics.
A special Telangana BC JAC has been formed under the aegis of BC associations in the state. The move came after a meeting of BC associations held in Hyderabad today. The front will coordinate the campaign and set out the next phase of action.
The new committee has six members. R. Krishnayya will serve as chairman of the BC JAC. VG Naragoni will serve as vice chairman.
The committee will steer strategy on the 42 percent demand. It will also guide outreach with stakeholders. Therefore, the formation signals a more organized push.
The BC associations also decided to change the protest calendar. The bandh planned for the 14th of this month has been postponed.
It will now be held on the 18th of this month. The reschedule aligns the bandh with the new JAC structure. Meanwhile, the organizers said the focus remains on reservations in education, jobs, and politics.
The Hyderabad meeting set the tone. It underlined unity across associations. It also framed the JAC as the platform to engage with the government and the public.
Then, the six-member team will frame the roadmap. Later, it will roll out the plan ahead of the bandh.
The demand is clear and specific. It is for 42 percent BC reservation across key sectors. Also, the JAC structure aims to keep the message consistent.
The calendar change gives time to mobilize. Therefore, the next steps will center on the Telangana bandh on the 18th. (Maxim News)
