Hyderabad, Jan 31 (Maxim News): A rare disease called Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) has been detected in Hyderabad, causing concern among residents. This comes after the virus created panic in Maharashtra, where one person died in the Solapur district and nearly 70 others fell ill.
First GBS Case in Hyderabad
Doctors have confirmed that a woman from Siddipet district has symptoms of GBS. She is currently being treated at KIMS Hospital. With this being the first reported case in Hyderabad, many people are worried.
Doctors ensure that GBS does not spread from person to person. However, early treatment is important for recovery.
Treatment is Costly
- GBS treatment is very expensive.
- Immunoglobulin injections, which help in recovery, cost thousands of rupees per dose.
Symptoms of GBS

How to Stay Safe?
Having a strong immune system can help protect against GBS, as the disease mainly affects people with low immunity. If infected, it can damage the nervous system.
