Bhatti Links Liquor Sales To Attacks On Women, Demands Govt To Shut Down Belt Shops
Hyderabad, Dec.5 (Maxim News): Deploring the increasing sexual attacks on women in the State in the recent times, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said the brutal murders of Disha in the city, Manasa in Warangal and Lakshmi in Asifabad district in the State has shaken each and every person in the State. He conveyed his heartfelt sympathies on behalf of the party to all the family members of the victims.
Citing that the sale of liquor has gone up in the State in recent times, Bhatti alleged there was a direct link between liquor sales and spurt in the attacks on the women in the State. Quoting the figures of liquor sales in the State, he said the State government had sold some 18 lakh cartons of liquor bottles last year. He demanded that the State government immediately shut down all the Liquor shops that had come up in large numbers.
Targeting the Police department, the CLP leader said the police were working for the welfare of the ruling party instead of the people. He claimed that the State was registering at least two woman missing cases every day. On the issue of hike in bus charges, he slammed the government for imposing more burden on the people. Questioning the Chief Minister as to why he allowed bus fare hike after promising to release Rs 1,000 crore to the corporation, he said h is party would hold a candle light rally in the city on Friday from Tank Bund to Raj bhavan. He also said they would meet the Governor after the rally. Later, they would hold Statewide agitation against illegal belt shops and permit rooms, he added. (Maxim News)
