Big Alert for Citizens: New Rules Effective from November 1
Big Alert for Citizens | Hyderabad, Oct. 30: Starting November 1, several new rules related to banking and Aadhaar services will come into effect across India.
The Central government and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) have introduced these changes to simplify procedures and enhance user convenience. Citizens are advised to take note of the updates to avoid service disruptions.
Aadhaar Update and Banking Rules to Change
From November 1, Aadhaar cardholders will be able to update their personal details: such as name, address, and mobile number, from home using a mobile-based service.
The facility, launched by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), allows online updates for a nominal fee of ₹75. This move aims to reduce long queues at Aadhaar enrolment and update centers.
In a major reform for bank customers, the RBI has permitted account holders to nominate up to four nominees for their bank accounts, lockers, and safe custody services.
Previously, only one nominee could be registered. The new rule provides greater flexibility and clarity in asset management for families.
Big Alert for Citizens
Additionally, the State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that from November 1, payments made through third-party applications for education services and wallet recharges above ₹1,000 will attract a 1% transaction fee.
The bank advised customers to review their payment options accordingly.
Officials stated that these measures are part of ongoing efforts to improve transparency, enhance user experience, and bring digital governance closer to citizens.
