BioAgri Startup Challenge Winners Announced At BioAgri 2025

The BioAgri Startup Challenge marked a major milestone for India’s agricultural biology sector, as the BioAgri Input Producers Association announced the winners at BioAgri 2025 in Hyderabad. The event took place during the two day BioAgri 2025 conference held at Ramoji Film City. BIPA, described as the world’s oldest trade body in the BioAgri space, organised India’s first ever Startup Challenge dedicated exclusively to the BioAgri sector.

Arthro Biotech, Pinnacle BioSciences, and Silverphage Technologies emerged as the top three winners of the BioAgri Startup Challenge. V Humate received the consolation prize. Although no prize money was attached, the challenge provided startups with national and global visibility. It also offered them an opportunity to pitch before investors and industry leaders. Therefore, the initiative focused on exposure, connections, and long term growth rather than financial rewards.

The BioAgri Startup Challenge attracted participation from 20 startups from across India. BIPA organised the challenge in collaboration with leading biotech and deep tech incubators. These included IKP Knowledge Park, also known as the International One Health Incubator, Venture Centre Pune, AgHub Hyderabad, Pusa Krishi, and Social Alpha. Meanwhile, a BIPA member and successful entrepreneur coordinated the entire initiative, reflecting BIPA’s industry driven approach.

During BioAgri 2025, finalists presented their innovations before an audience of over 200 stakeholders from India and abroad. BioAgri 2025 is described as India’s largest agri input professionals conference. After two rounds of jury evaluation, the panel shortlisted five startups for live pitching. Later, the jury selected the final three winners based on their presentations and innovations.

Arthro Biotech secured first prize for producing and distributing eco friendly animal feed components and soil conditioners. The company was founded by Praveen K Sappa and co founded by Kishore Nalam. Pinnacle BioSciences won second prize for its algae based solutions for agriculture, animal nutrition, aquaculture, and human health. The company uses marine algae such as seaweed and was founded by Dr M Adhi Visvanathan, with Vishnu Ram as Director along with Gowtham. Silverphage Technologies, based in Chandigarh and represented by Shivam Chinyoti, won third prize for its biological solutions.

Commenting on the initiative, D R Venkatesh, Secretary General of BIPA, said the BIPA Startup Challenge 2025 was launched to encourage deep tech innovation in biological agriculture by providing startups with critical business connections and pathways to commercial traction. He added that through such initiatives, BIPA continues its commitment to strengthening India’s BioAgri ecosystem by recognising industry leaders and empowering future innovators.
