BJP Flays Congress Over Safilguda Desecration Incident

The BJP on Sunday flayed the Congress government in Telangana over an incident in Safilguda where a youngster allegedly urinated in front of a religious place of worship. BJP State president N Ramchander Rao condemned the incident and accused the ruling party of failing to protect religious sentiments and maintain law and order. He said such incidents had increased after the Congress came to power in the State.
According to the input, the incident reportedly took place on Sunday night. Videos showing the youngster urinating in front of the place of worship circulated widely on social media platforms. In the same videos, local residents were seen catching the youngster and thrashing him. As the videos spread rapidly, public anger also grew in the area. Meanwhile, BJP leaders rushed to the spot and raised slogans against the Congress government.
BJP leaders alleged that the Congress government failed to act firmly and allowed such incidents to repeat. They claimed that attacks on Hindu religious places had become frequent in Telangana. Therefore, they accused the ruling party of ignoring public concerns and religious sensitivities. While protesting at the spot, BJP leaders targeted the Congress government for what they described as weak governance and poor law enforcement.
Reacting strongly, N Ramchander Rao made sharp remarks against the Congress. He said the Congress in Telangana was competing with Bangladesh and Pakistan on who would outdo the other in attacks on Hindus. He further expressed his anger over the Safilguda incident and its impact on public sentiment. Taking to social media platform X, Ramchander Rao said, “Even though I respect human rights, the other side speaks the language of “Sar Tan Se Juda”, therefore this incident calls for the encounter of the person.”
The BJP leader’s statement added to the political tension surrounding the incident. Meanwhile, BJP workers continued to blame the Congress government for what they described as repeated failures in maintaining peace. They argued that such acts hurt religious harmony and created fear among devotees. They also claimed that similar incidents had occurred earlier but the government failed to take strong action.
As the controversy continued, the incident triggered a fresh political confrontation between the BJP and the Congress in Telangana. The BJP maintained that strict action was needed to prevent such incidents in the future. However, the input provided no response or clarification from the Congress government on the matter.
