New Delhi, Oct. 26: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged protests across the country following controversial remarks by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP leaders demanded Kharge’s resignation and called on him to issue a public apology.
The controversy erupted after Kharge made the remarks at an event in Patna, Bihar, on Sunday. His comments drew sharp criticism from BJP leaders, who accused the Congress president of using inappropriate language against the Prime Minister.

BJP leaders organised demonstrations at party headquarters and other locations across the country. Protesters burned effigies and posters of Kharge and raised slogans against the Congress leadership.
BJP leader Kamal Nath also participated in protests in Bihar, demanding Kharge’s resignation as Congress president. He called for a public apology to Modi.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh criticised Kharge’s remarks, expressing concern that they had come from the national president of a major political party.
“This is very sad. The most shocking thing in this whole affair is that these comments were not made by a small-time person in the Congress. They were made by the national president of that party,” Singh said.
The controversy has intensified the political confrontation between the BJP and Congress, with BJP leaders continuing to demand an apology over Kharge’s comments.
