BJP Releases 13 Page Chargesheet On Congress: “1000 Lies, In 1000 Days And 1000 Betrayals

Hyderabad, Sept 2 (Maxim News): The Telangana State BJP unit stepped up its political offensive against the ruling Congress dispensation on Tuesday, marking 1,000 days of Congress rule by releasing a chargesheet.

The 13-page chargesheet accused the state government of failing to deliver on its election promises, highlighting “1000 days, 1000 lies, 1000 betrayals ” by the Congress government in Telangana. It called for Congress Hatao-Telangana Bachao and alleged widespread corruption, with “the hidden cost of Praja Palana includes RR Tax, B Tax, U Tax and PR Tax.”

At the core of the accusations, the BJP charged the Congress with failing to deliver on its flagship electoral promise of 6 Guarantees under Abhya Hastham. According to the chargesheet, schemes such as the monthly Rs 2,500 financial assistance for women, expansion of pension benefits, enhanced farmer support, and student assistance programs have not been delivered as promised.

The report focuses on farmers’ issues, including decisions to tweak eligibility criteria and administrative processes, as well as the 2 lakh loan waiver. Among other things, it pointed out that the Congress failed to deliver on the promises it made to landless agricultural workers, which remain pending.

On youth and education-related promises, the chargesheet accuses the government of failing to provide a monthly unemployment allowance and not introducing the promised Rs 5 lakh collateral-free student financial support cards. It further alleges delays in fee-reimbursement payments and highlights vacancies at state universities, describing the situation as an “education emergency.”

Taking on urban development as a key concern, the BJP alleges irregularities and a lack of transparency in the proposed Musi Riverfront project and criticises the handling of the Bhu Bharati land portal and HYDRAA activities.

The chargesheet also points to delays in the Hyderabad Metro expansion and infrastructure projects, as well as recurring concerns over water supply and power outages. The chargesheet targeted the government on financial management, claiming that Telangana’s debt burden has risen sharply. Further, multiple categories of payments and arrears remain pending, including employee dues, fee reimbursements, health sector bills, and local body payments. It also questions the government’s handling of pension reforms and dearness allowance instalments for state employees.

The BJP chargesheet accused the government of neglecting commitments made to Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, women, auto drivers, and other sections of society. “Reductions in welfare allocations and non-implementation of several promises announced during election campaigns and public declarations” is a major concern, it added.
