BJP slams CM KCR over 10% tribal quota

Hyderabad, Sept.19 (NSS): The State BJP today slammed CM KCR over his announcement to provide 10 percent reservations to the tribals of the State. The party MP from Uttar Pradesh Dr K. Laxman asked the CM as to why he did not provide 10 percent reservations to the tribals in his eight-year long rule if it was possible for him to implement the reservations by issuing a GO?

Speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating a photo exhibition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the State party headquarters, Dr Laxman alleged that the CM was playing dramas on the issue. He made it clear that the States of the country have complete freedom in the implementation of the reservations. Laxman asked the CM if all category of the reservations being provided by the State government has approval of the Union government?

He reminded that the reservations were increased in the undivided AP State by a single stroke of pen during the rule of former CM NT Rama Rao. Laxman claimed that the CM had brought the issue of the 10 percent tribal reservations by keeping in view of the upcoming by-elections in Munugodu Assembly constituency. He alleged that the CM was playing a drama to cheat the voters of Munugodu. Making it clear that it is the responsibility of the State government to not only increase the reservations, but also implement them, he warned that the BJP would fight against the State government if it failed to discharge the two duties.

Claiming that the TRS and the Congress parties are one and same, he claimed that the people were with Prime Minister Narendra Modi notwithstanding the conspiracies of their political rivals. Commenting on the announcement of Girijana Bandhu scheme announced by the CM, he mocked that no Bandhu scheme would save KCR from facing a defeat in the next Assembly elections in Telangana. (NSS)
