BRS Backs Protest Against Waqf Act: Mahmood Ali Vows Full Support

Hyderabad, April 19: Senior BRS leader and former minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali has extended his party’s full support to the ongoing protest against the Central Government’s proposed Waqf Amendment Act. He was speaking at a protest rally organized by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board at Darussalam, Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, Mahmood Ali emphasized that the protection of waqf properties is a deeply important and sensitive issue for the Muslim community.

He strongly criticized the BJP-led central government, accusing it of attempting to weaken waqf institutions with the aim of damaging the religious, social, and educational infrastructure of Muslims.

He urged AIMIM Supremo and Hyderabad MP Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi to lead a broad-based movement against the Act by uniting all secular forces on a common platform. Mahmood Ali assured that the BRS party would not only fully support the agitation but also take up the issue at the parliamentary level if required.

He further stated that waqf properties are a sacred trust of the community, and pledged to do everything possible to ensure their protection.
