BRS Diversion Politics Charge Before Budget

Hyderabad: BRS MLA K Sanjay on Monday accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of indulging in diversion politics ahead of the State Assembly budget session. He alleged that the Chief Minister was creating new dramas to deflect attention from the Congress government’s failures and issues faced by people.

Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Sanjay demanded that the government stop attention diversion politics. He urged it to prepare for a meaningful discussion on public issues during the upcoming session. He said the focus should remain on governance and accountability.

Diversion politics remark targets Chief Minister

He stated that the Chief Minister failed to speak about municipal development under the Congress regime. According to him, this silence continued both before and after the urban local bodies elections. Meanwhile, he claimed that SIT notices were issued to senior BRS leaders, including former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao, ahead of elections as part of a calculated political strategy to shift focus.

Sanjay also alleged that instead of discussing development, Revanth Reddy resorted to attacking the BRS chief. “The Chief Minister is stooping to new lows by alleging BRS and BJP nexus, and comparing them with Telugu conjoined twins who are struggling with their lives,” he remarked.

BRS flags defection cases and Davos visit

The BRS MLA objected to what he described as selective action in defection cases. He pointed out that a Congress municipal councillor in Asifabad was disqualified for switching parties. However, he said no action was taken against 10 BRS MLAs who switched to the Congress and campaigned for the party in local body polls.

He also questioned the outcome of the Chief Minister’s recent visit to Davos. He stated that no details were shared about investments secured for the State.

Sanjay demanded adequate time for the opposition to speak during the budget session. He urged the government to allocate funds and fulfill promises made to women, farmers and unemployed youth.

He further called for a detailed discussion on irrigation projects, including Devadula and Kaleshwaram. He asserted that the Assembly must function transparently and allow debate on people’s issues.
