Ravishankar, along with other party workers, had planned to stage a dharna at Gangadhara Chowk in protest against the State government’s decision to provide only Rs. 12000 per acre instead of the promised Rs. 15,000 to farmers under Rythu Bharosa

As the BRS leader was about to leave the house to the protest venue, the police reached his residence and detained him in the house itself.  Ravishankar wanted the police to register a cheating case against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for misleading farmers with false promises.  The CM should resign from his post and extend an apology to the farming community, he demanded.
