Hyderabad, Sept 24 (Maxim News): BRS leaders have expressed their anger that arrests are being made if the government is questioned over power cuts. The police have pre-arrested Mahadevpur mandal leaders Sripathi Bapu, Kedari Geetha, Aleem Khan, Kurathota Srihari and Chilla Kumar for participating in the state-wide power plant siege program called by BRS Working President KTR.
They questioned whether the government’s policy was to suppress the voice of questioning in a democracy. They accused the government of failing to provide 24-hour quality electricity to farmers.
He said that during the previous government’s tenure, farmers were happy with uninterrupted power supply, but now due to power cuts, crops are drying up. He criticized the government’s excuses on power generation capacity and coal reserves as lame excuses. He demanded that the government immediately provide uninterrupted power supply without causing any trouble to the farmers. (Maxim News)
