Dubai, July 29: Indian travellers can now book tickets for At the Top, Burj Khalifa using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), making it the first attraction in the UAE to accept UPI for online ticket bookings.
The facility has been introduced through a partnership between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment. Visitors can now purchase tickets through the attraction’s official website using UPI enabled payment apps before travelling to the UAE.
Burj Khalifa UPI Booking Enhances Travel Convenience
The latest rollout expands NIPL’s partnership with NEOPAY. Since 2022, Indian travellers have been able to make QR code based UPI payments at merchants across NEOPAY’s network in the UAE. The new integration now extends UPI acceptance to e commerce transactions.
Ritesh Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI International, said Indian travellers increasingly prefer payment options that are familiar, simple and seamless while travelling abroad. He said the new feature allows visitors to use UPI while planning their trip before arriving in the UAE.
According to NIPL, the initiative will strengthen cross border digital payments between India and the UAE while meeting the growing demand for secure and convenient payment solutions.
NEOPAY CEO Vibhor Mundhada said the integration marks a significant milestone in digital commerce and makes NEOPAY the first company in the Gulf Cooperation Council region to enable UPI for e commerce transactions.
An Emaar Entertainment spokesperson said the addition of UPI for online bookings will simplify the ticket booking process for Indian visitors, who form one of the largest international visitor groups at the Burj Khalifa.
