Cases registered After Puranapool Temple Vandalism And Protest Violence
Hyderabad, Jan 15 (Maxim News) The Hyderabad police registered cases in connection with the vandalism at the Puranapul Temple and the violence reported during the protest.
Ten persons including an inspector, a few constables and civilians were injured in the stone pelting and several vehicles damaged. The cases are registered at Kamatipura police station.
The trouble started after a man allegedly vandalized the temple at Puranapul late on Wednesday evening. On coming to know about it a mob gathered and started a protest.
As the protestors were damaging vehicles by pelting stones the police resorted to a lathicharge. The mob later dispersed into nearby localities.
A flag of religious significance to a particular community and a shrine was damaged by the protesters. Meanwhile the situation remains peaceful in the area amidst heavy police presence. (Maxim News)
