CBI Investigation If The State Government Requests IT: Kishan Reddy
Delhi/Hyderabad, Jan 22 (Maxim News): Union Coal and Mines minister Kishan Reddy has revealed that the central government will consider the issue of conducting a CBI investigation into Singareni if the state government requests it.
He said that there is a need to discuss not only the Naini block issue but also all the irregularities taking place in Singareni. He said that a full-scale investigation is needed to protect the future of the company and its workers. He said that he will write a letter to the state government on this issue. He said that Singareni has been mired in losses due to the state government’s mismanagement and is ready to bring to back to profit if it is handed over to the central government.
He spoke to reporters in Delhi on Wednesday. “Some people are talking about what the central minister is doing without conducting a CBI investigation into the affairs related to the Singareni coal block. The local government’s permission should be required to conduct an investigation in the company in which the state government has a 51 per cent stake. Some leaders are making allegations knowing that. If the previous Indian government owed Singareni Rs. 32 thousand crores, it has reached Rs. 47 thousand crores during the current Congress government. This has created a situation where employees have to take loans and pay salaries, if the price of a tone of Grade-II coal in Coal India is only Rs. 1,605.“
“There is Rs. 4,088 in Singareni. The main reason for this is the state government’s exploitation. Even though the quality of Singareni coal (48%) has fallen compared to the quality of Coal India coal (86 %), the state government is not paying attention. Due to this, NTPC, AP and Karnataka governments have written letters demanding Singareni coal for themselves. As a result, the future of the company has become bleak. While the previous BRS government gave an opportunity to MLAs and party leaders to occupy Singareni lands in the state, the current Congress government is also doing the same. Even though the central government representatives questioned this issue in the governing body meetings, there was no result. Since all the ownership rights of Singareni are in the hands of the state government, the central government representatives are in a situation where they cannot do anything except disagree with the governing body’s approach. There is a need to completely clean up the company. Irregularities must be completely stopped. That is why an emergency governing body meeting was convened on my orders”. Central Coal department officials spoke to the state government, Singareni directors and CMD. The union Coal Secretary, who is currently abroad, will write a letter to the Chief Secretary of the state government after his return. As a Union Minister, he is ready to provide all kinds of assistance to the company. However, he requests the state government not to throw the company’s future on the road due to corruption and irregularities. (Maxim News)
