Centre Failed To Procure Cotton, But KCR Doing Best For Farmers: Dayakar
Hyderabad, Nov.21 (Maxim News): Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao today said there was a lot of difference between the previous Congress, TDP Governments and TRS Government. He criticized the Centre for not procuring cotton from the Telangana State through CCI by setting up purchase centers.
Dayakar Rao inaugurated a paddy purchase center at Matadu village in Thorrur mandal of Mahabubabad district. Though the State government was procuring paddy and offering MSP, the Centre had failed to purchase cotton from the farmers of Telangana State, he charged. He also asserted that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was doing his best to protect farmers’ interests. The KCR Government was doing well for the cause of the farmers by offering 24-hour free power supply and Rs 10,000 per acre crop investment, he said, adding that no other government in the country have so far conceived such unique welfare programs for the farmers.
In addition to Rs 5 lakh offer to kin of deceased farmers as insurance, TRS government was offering Rs 13,000 crore per year towards MSP to the farm produce, the minister said. With coordinated efforts, the Telangana State has achieved Swachch Sarvekshan Award from Centre, he added. (Maxim News)
