Centre has no respect for Supreme Court orders: CJI NV Ramana
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday criticised the Centre for the delay in filling the vacancies at various tribunals and for enacting the Tribunal Reforms Act. Chief Justice NV Ramana told the Centre there was no respect for the court’s judgment and circumstances are testing the court’s patience. He added that the apex court is upset with the present situation.
The bench dealing with the petition asked the Centre as to why chairpersons and members to tribunals were not appointed even after one and a half years. However, the top court has expressed happiness over the Central government clearing appointment of nine judges to the Supreme Court within seven days.
