Centre Issues Orders To Remove Ineligible People From List Of Ration Cards
Delhi/Hyderabad, Aug 3 (Maxim News): The Center has issued orders to remove ineligible people from the list of ration cards. This has become a problem for both old and new ration cards. It is clear that if you are getting ration by paying income tax, your ration card will definitely be removed. The new guidelines brought by the Central government are proof of that.
The Centre has started the exercise to weed out the ineligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) scheme. The Income Tax Department will provide assistance to the Union Food Department, while the Beneficiary Affairs Department will provide the Beneficiary Affairs Department to the Food and Distribution (BFPD) Department of the Ministry, as per the central government orders.
In this process, the DFPD will provide the Aadhaar number or PAN details of the beneficiaries to the Income Tax Department, based on which the Income Tax Department will verify the financial status of the beneficiary and return the details to the Food Department, officials say.
Currently, no work can proceed without loans. From the poor to the middle class, they are living on loans. Whether the families take a house construction loan or get loans from banks and private institutions for other needs, loans are provided only to those who pay income tax. They sanction loans only after examining the income tax details for three consecutive years. Aadhaar card is required for every work. In connection with that, a PAN card will have to be provided. In this order, thousands of families are likely to come under the purview of the said rules.
With this, there are thousands of families who have taken loans for housing, vehicles and other needs while paying income tax from the white ration card. If this rule is fully implemented for all of them, they will lose their white ration cards. With this, the free ration card will be canceled and they will be deprived of Arogyasri and other welfare schemes.
There is criticism from white ration card holders on the central order. They say that there is no one who is rich in terms of enjoying the ration card and they are taking loans by showing that they have paid income tax for the loan. (Maxim News)
