It is noteworthy that the traders have decided that it is better to temporarily close the chicken market as there is no business or a situation where flies are flying. About 15 tons of chicken are sold every Sunday in about 200 chicken shops in Adilabad town.  But traders say that last Sunday (February 16, 2024) at least 3 tones of chicken were not sold.

Chicken Shops CLosed In Adilabad!!!

Until recently, a kilo of chicken was priced at Rs. 240, but now it has fallen to Rs. 160.  In Adilabad, every Sunday, chicken sales of Rs. 60 lakh to Rs. 70 lakh are made, and now even 20 percent of the demand is not being met.  Here, the price of a kilo has been increased from Rs. 650 to Rs. 750 due to the increase in demand for mutton.  The effect of bird flu is also very visible in Adilabad.  With bird flu emerging in Nagpur and Chandrapur in neighboring Maharashtra, people in the district are afraid to eat chicken.

Not only chicken shops but also hotels and restaurants have seen a decline in orders for chicken items.  On normal days, 70 percent of orders are for chicken-related varieties, but now their sales have decreased, say the managers.  They say the effect has been mostly on chicken biryani.  On Sundays, more people go to restaurants for lunch/dinner.  Restaurants are packed with customers from noon onwards.  But restaurant managers say that the number of customers has also decreased due to the bird flu effect.  They say that the number of people coming to restaurants and hotels has dropped by 20 to 30 percent.  (Maxim News)
