CLP merger: Speaker acted at CM’s behest: Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad, June 7 (Maxim News): Reacting to the merger of CLP into ruling TRS party, senior Congress leader Mohd Shabbir Ali on Friday alleged that Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy acted as “stooge” of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on the issue of merger of CLP into ruling TRSLP. He also alleged that the Speaker had merged the CLP without following the existing rules. Shabbir Ali wondered as to how the Speaker and Governor of the State enjoying constitutional posts would not consider the constitutional provisions.

Speaking to mediapersons, Shabbir Ali said the Speaker had not considered the complaints lodged by them. Referring to the statements of TRS leaders that the Congress had encouraged defections during former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime, Ali reminded that the by-elections were held after disqualification of the defected MLAS by the then Speaker. He said the ruling TRS party began its “Operation Akarsh” in March this year and ended on Thursday in June. He also said they would go to Supreme Court and expose the TRS party in the people’s court as well seeking justice. (Maxim News)
