CM Pays Tributes to Jyotirao Phule On His Birth Anniversary

Hyderabad, April 10 (Maxim News): Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has paid rich tributes to philosopher, visionary and social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on the occasion of his 195th birth anniversary on Sunday (April 11).

In a message here the CM recalled the services rendered by Mahatma Jyotirao Phule to the country. He said the action program implemented by Mahatma Phule to eradicate caste discrimination and upliftment of Dalit Bahujan and Women was of the highest order.

The CM said that the Telangana state government has taken inspiration from Mahatma Phule’s philosophy that socio-economic prosperity could be achieved only through education and equality, irrespective of the caste or gender and is implementing the same. The state government had been implementing several programs, schemes to make people in the hereditary professions to live with social respect and economically independent.

The Chief Minister said that the six-and half-year-old Telangana self- governance process was continuing by taking inspiration from the great personalities like Mahatma Phule. He said that the welfare schemes being implemented by the Telangana government at a cost of about Rs 45,000 crore annually are helping the upliftment of the backward SC, ST, BC and Minority women.

The CM said that the performance of the Telangana government in the field of development and welfare is being praised at the national and international levels. He said that the Telangana government is making special efforts in the field of education and the good results registered by the residential educational institutions are a proof of making Mahatma Phule’s ideas into action. The CM also recalled that the state government is giving financial assistance to the weaker sections students to pursue education overseas under Mahatma Phule Videsh Vidya Nidhi. (Maxim News)
