CM Revanth Reddy Meets Governor: Stage Set For Cabinet Expansion
Hyderabad, Mar 30 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma. He went to Raj Bhavan along with Minister Konda Sureskha and Jupally Krishna Rao and met the Governor.
On this occasion, he wished the Governor a happy Ugadi festival. Later, they discussed with the Governor. It is learnt that CM Revanth had discussions with the Governor regarding the cabinet expansion. The CM’s meeting with the governor has assumed importance in the backdrop of speculations regarding the cabinet expansion.
There has been a lot of talk in state politics for the past few days that the high command has given the green signal for the cabinet expansion and that the cabinet expansion will take place after Ugadi. In this context, the meeting of CM Revanth Reddy with the Governor is adding further strength to the news. There is a possibility of a cabinet expansion on April 3, 2025. It is reported that four new ministers will be sworn in. With CM Revanth’s meeting with the Governor, the discussion has intensified that the stage is set for the cabinet expansion.
Meanwhile, there are currently six ministerial posts vacant in Revanth Reddy’s cabinet. Since the cabinet expansion has been pending for almost 15 months, the state leadership and high command have decided in principle to take up the expansion immediately without any further delay. As part of this, the state leaders recently met with party leaders in Delhi and discussed the expansion of the cabinet.
It has been decided to fill the vacancies by considering all aspects like social equations and caste equations. Currently, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts do not have representation in the cabinet. With this, there is a possibility of providing an opportunity to these districts in the cabinet.
There is currently no one in the cabinet from Adilabad district. With this, there is a campaign that Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy, who belongs to the SC community, is almost certain to get the ministerial post. Also, there is a campaign that the Reddy community will get two ministerial posts this time. Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Bodhan MLA Prodduturi Sudarshan Reddy are in the race.
Rajagopal Reddy has been hoping for a ministerial post for a long time. He has been repeatedly mentioning to the media that he wants the Home Ministry. it seems that he is likely to get a berth. Also, there is no minister from Nizamabad district, There is a rumor that Bodhan MLA and former minister Prodduturi Sudarshan Reddy will get a chance. There is talk that Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari has been fixed as a minister in Mudiraj quota.
These four are currently in the front row in the race for the four ministerial posts to be filled. However, the high command has not officially announced the list of ministerial posts yet. This has created excitement not only in the Congress ranks but also in state politics as to who will get the Amatya Yogaz.
