Congress Slams BRS Over Neglect of Poor

Uttam Kumar Reddy criticized the previous BRS regime for its poor handling of food security. He noted that in 10 years, only 49,000 new ration cards were issued, despite a growing number of deserving families.

“The BRS issued most of these cards during by-elections. They ignored lakhs of eligible households,” he said.

In contrast, the Congress government has received lakhs of applications and is addressing them through a mission-driven approach, he added.
