The protest will take place at Indira Park’s Dharna Chowk on Sunday at 10 am. After organizing demonstrations in cities such as Delhi, Lucknow and Pune, the group has now turned its focus to southern India as part of its expanding outreach among students and young professionals.
The primary demand of the protest is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the controversy surrounding alleged NEET UG examination paper leaks and concerns related to the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA). Organizers say the movement seeks greater accountability and transparency in the country’s examination system.
Participants are expected to raise slogans criticizing examination irregularities and highlighting the challenges faced by students and job seekers. The protest also aims to draw attention to broader issues affecting young people, including unemployment and access to quality education.
Organizers have announced that noted environmentalist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk is expected to address the gathering. Students, parents, and youth groups from Hyderabad are likely to participate in the event.
Apart from education related concerns, speakers are expected to discuss local civic and environmental issues. These include the protection of KBR National Park, the rejuvenation of the Musi River, and sustainable urban development in Hyderabad.
According to organizers, the platform seeks to connect national concerns with local public issues and encourage greater civic participation among young citizens.
Rise of the Cockroach Janata Party
The Cockroach Janata Party was launched on May 16, 2026, by digital media strategist Abhijeet Deepke. The initiative reportedly emerged as a satirical response to comments made during a public debate on unemployment and youth participation in civic issues.
Operating under the tagline “Voice of the Lazy and Unemployed,” the movement gained significant traction on social media platforms within weeks. Although it is not a registered political party and does not contest elections, it has evolved into a prominent online advocacy platform focusing on youth concerns.
Following the Hyderabad programme, the organization plans to hold another protest in Bengaluru on the same day at 4 pm as part of its southern India outreach campaign.
Political observers are closely watching the turnout at these events, as they could indicate the growing influence of digitally driven youth movements in shaping public discourse.
