Congress Leaders Visit Rape Victim’s Kin At Komuram Bhim District

Hyderabad, Dec.9 (Maxim News): A delegation led by CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday visited the family members of Teku Laxmi, who was brutally raped and killed at Yellapatala village of Lingapur Mandal of Komuram Bhim Asifabad district of the state. The delegation comprised of MLA D. Sridhar Babu and former MP Ramesh Rathod and other Congress leaders. The delegation visited the site of offence and gathered details about the gruesome incident from local people.

Speaking on the occasion, Vikramarka said that it was unfortunate that that none of the ruling party leaders including local MLA, ZP Chairman and state cabinet ministers visited the family members of the victim. He termed the incident as very unfortunate and added that the Congress party was strongly condemning the incident. He demanded the state government to punish the accused severely. Citing that the crimes like rapes against women are increasing in the state day by day, he alleged that the policies of the state government were directly contributing to the increase in such crimes.

He said that the state witnessing a situation wherein the drunkards were committing rapes and murders of the women in unconscious manner. Targeting the police department of the state, he alleged that the police department was busy serving the ruling party leaders instead of the people of the state. He alleged that the police were booking cases at the orders of the ruling TRS party leaders. He demanded the state government to take steps to provide equal justice to the family members of the victims of different kinds of crimes including rapes and murders of women. (Maxim News)
