Hyderabad, Nov.1 (Maxim News): The Congress party has postponed announcement of first list of candidates. A full list, instead of a partial one, is expected to be released either on November 8 or 9.
After a meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee in New Delhi on Thursday, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said it will meet again on November 8 after which a full list will be announced. The meeting was chaired by AICC president Rahul Gandhi at the residence of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Meanwhile, AICC general secretary in-charge for Telangana Affairs RC Khuntia announced that his party would contest from 95 seats in Telangana. The remaining 24 seats will be left for its allies from the 119 seats in the Assembly. The Congress has decided to spare 14 seats to the TTD. The decision was taken by the TDP, Uttam Kumar Reddy.
A decision on seats for Telangana Jana Samiti and Communist Party of India will be taken after Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with TJS president M Kodandaram and CPI leaders on Friday, Khuntia said while the plan was to finalize names of candidates for 62 constituencies on Thursday, but the discussions were limited to 57 constituencies for which candidates have been finalized. He, however, said the party will release a full list. (Maxim News)
