Covid Third Wave:

Hospitalizations were seen in just 2.8% of unvaccinated patients,” said Dr , director public health Telangana, on Tuesday.

The official stressed that vaccination has served as a key weapon in combating the virus this time. The fever survey across nearly 1 crore houses – and supplying medical kits to the people – has also paid off, he said. “No new variant is expected to emerge from India in the near future as our vaccination coverage is really good. The second reason is that majority of the population is already infected,” he said.

Devotees can attend the Medaram Jatara from 10tg of this month without any hesitation, said the official. To ensure this, medical health department has set up medical camps at the Medaram fair and vaccination camps have also been set up. ” tests will be done. A temporary 150-bed hospital has been set up. “Devotees should visit Medaram Jatara,” the official added.

Citing the example of United States and some of the European countries where Omicron is having a serious
impact as around 40% people only are vaccinated, the official said, “Omicron is severe but can be counteracted by corona vaccination. More than 80% of those vaccinated are vaccinated against any variant. New variants are expected to emerge in the next few months and Covid-19 is expected to transform into a common flu in the coming days. Eventually, it will turn into a mild virus.” The positivity rate has decreased from 5% to 2% now.
