Hyderabad, April 18: Top leaders of CPI and CPI (M) and their cadre on Thursday joined the Congress campaign led by Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy in Kodad in favor of Congress candidate K Raghuveer Reddy from Nalgonda Lok Sabha constituency.

Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted the significant message conveyed by the Left parties’ decision, emphasizing the unity of secular forces in Telangana against communal threats.

He expressed concern over the erosion of democratic pillars during the tenure of the BJP-led government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over the past decade.

Reddy warned that the unchecked continuation of BJP rule in upcoming elections could result in the complete dismantling of the democratic framework.

He attributed the BJP’s electoral successes to the fragmentation among secular factions. However, the formation of the I.N.D.I.A., spearheaded by the Congress party and comprising 41 political entities, has effectively neutralized the BJP’s tactic of exploiting divisions for political gain.

He confidently predicted that the Congress-led INDIA coalition is poised for victory in the Lok Sabha elections, with Rahul Gandhi positioned to assume the role of India’s next PM. He forecasted that the BJP-led NDA would not cross even 200 in the seats tally.

Uttam Kumar Reddy emphasized that democracy was reinstated in Telangana following the establishment of the Congress Government in December of the previous year.

He criticized the former BRS Government, led by K Chandrashekhar Rao, for collaborating with the Modi Government to undermine democracy and erode constitutional principles.

Reddy accused the BRS administration and the BJP of attempting to undermine the legislature through orchestrated defections, politicizing the executive branch, and trying to influence the judiciary.

He highlighted their manipulation of the media to suppress dissenting voices and promote their agendas. Reddy praised the Congress party’s decade-long struggle against the undemocratic, authoritarian BRS regime in the previous Assembly elections.

He expressed confidence that, with the active support of the CPI and CPI (M), the Congress party would replicate its success in the Assembly elections, securing victory in 15 out of 17 Assembly seats.

He earnestly appealed to leaders and members of the CPI and CPI (M) across Telangana State to throw their support behind the Congress candidates in their respective constituencies and actively participate in the election campaign.

Referring to the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat, which he previously represented as MP from 2019 to 2023, as a stronghold of the Congress, he confidently predicted that the party would secure a historic victory with an unprecedented majority.

“Our objective is not just to secure the highest majority in Telangana but across India. The immense support we’ve received for our campaign fills us with confidence that we will reach our ambitious target,” he declared.

He said he had raised almost all key issues of the Nalgonda Parliament constituency and got several development projects sanctioned for the Nalgonda Parliament constituency as MP.

He exuded confidence that Raghuveera Reddy would represent the area well in Parliament.

Uttam Kumar Reddy proudly announced that the Congress Government had swiftly delivered five out of six promised guarantees within the first 100 days of assuming power.

These achievements included providing gas cylinders for Rs 500, offering free electricity for up to 200 units, granting complimentary RTC bus travel for women, initiating the ‘Indiramma Indlu’ program to allocate free land, and offering Rs 5 lakh for housing construction, as well as doubling the Aarogyasri amount from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

He assured the public that the remaining guarantee, along with all other commitments made, would be fulfilled promptly after the lifting of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha elections.

He elaborated that the forthcoming Congress-led Government at the Centre would honor all commitments outlined in the ‘Congress Nyay Patra,’ unveiled by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a public gathering in Tukkuguda on April 6.

This comprehensive document comprises 25 significant assurances aimed at fostering justice for the nation’s youth, women, farmers, and workers and ensuring social equity.

Among its key promises, the next Congress Government pledges to conduct a nationwide socio-economic and caste census, advocate for a Constitutional amendment to lift the 50% cap on reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities, and institute a 10% quota in employment and educational institutions for Economically Weaker Sections, applicable across all social strata.

“The ‘Congress Nyay Patra’ also encompasses promises such as legally guaranteeing Minimum Support Prices, abolishing the Agnipath Scheme, offering cashless insurance up to Rs 25 lakh for universal healthcare, establishing a national minimum wage of Rs 400 per day, introducing the Mahalakshmi scheme to allocate Rs 1 lakh annually to impoverished Indian families, and addressing the shortfall of 30 lakh positions at various levels within the Central government,” he said.
