Crackdown On Meat Shops | Hyderabad, Feb 9 (Maxim News): When Sunday comes, nothing is complete without a piece. Some traders are playing with the lives of the people by adulterating chicken and mutton, which are the favorites of non-vegetarians. GHMC officials are cracking down on such shops.
Despite repeated warnings, the officials are seizing shops that do not follow the rules. A team of senior GHMC officials closed down meat shops operating without a license in Greater Hyderabad on Sunday.
GHMC has taken action after complaints were received that most meat vendors in the twin cities were charging high prices and were robbing buyers by selling substandard meat. Baldia has focused on the sale of adulterated meat in Hyderabad.
Meat Shops In Hyderabad
The GHMC has become serious about non-veg shops that do not follow the rules. Baldia has issued notices to 5,730 chicken, mutton, fish, and beef shops.
GHMC officials have identified more than 30,000 unauthorized meat shops. Officials said that chicken and mutton shops are being run without GHMC trade licenses. They said that non-veg shops are being run amidst unhygienic conditions.
GHMC officials have identified that rotting chicken and mutton stored for days azre being sold. They said that mutton without a GHMC stamp is being sold to the public. They warned that if the practice of giving notices is not changed, the meat shops will be seized. GHMC has taken action in the wake of increasing food poisoning cases. (Maxim News)
