CV Anand Telangana DGP | Hyderabad, April 28 (Maxim News): Senior IPS officer CV Anand will serve as the next Director General of Police of Telangana. The state government announced the appointment on Tuesday.
Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao issued the official orders. Meanwhile, current DGP Shivdhar Reddy will retire at the end of this month. CV Anand stood among the top officers in the seniority list. Moreover, his strong public image and long service record helped him secure the post.
CV Anand to Take Charge on May 1
At present, CV Anand serves as Principal Secretary in the Home Department. He also brings wide experience in field policing and law and order management.
Earlier, he led the Hyderabad City Police as Commissioner. Later, he served as Director of the Anti Corruption Bureau.
Because of his record, the government placed confidence in his leadership. As a result, it handed him the top police post.
Officials believe his appointment will improve discipline and strengthen policing standards across the state. In addition, he is expected to focus on security systems and modern policing methods.
CV Anand earlier served as Hyderabad City Police Commissioner. He also worked as Director of the Anti Corruption Bureau. His performance in both roles reportedly earned the confidence of the government.

The police department has already begun preparations to bid farewell to outgoing DGP Shivdhar Reddy later this month.
