Cyberabad CP Detains Property Offender Under P.D. Act

Hyderabad, Feb.20 (Maxim News): In ongoing drive against repeat offenders in Cyberabad Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar invoked Detention order under P.D Act as “Goonda” against Kelavath Shankar, 38, clothes Merchant, residing near Hanuman Temple, Hanuman Nagar, Sadashivapet and a native of Ramnagar, Hyderabad.

Police said Kelavath Shankar of Sadasivpet was addicted to bad vices and decided to commit house burglaries during nights. He used to move in the area on foot and identify the locked houses and break open the locks with an Iron rod, gain entry into the house, broke open the locks of almirah and commit theft of gold, silver ornaments and cash. He was involved in six cases in quick succession in a span of one month from May 2019 to June 2019, under the limits of Chandanagar Police Station of Cyberabad and Ameenpur P.S of Sangareddy District.

As his acts were considered prejudicial to the maintenance of public order, the accused has been detained under Preventive Detention (PD) Act to keep him out of the society for a considerable period in the prison and to prevent him from committing such offences. (Maxim News)
