Damodhar Rao, Parthasaradhi Reddy file nomination for Rajya Sabha

Hyderabad, May 25 (Maxim News): TRS candidates Deevakonda Damodhar Rao and Bandi Parthasaradhi Reddy on Wednesday filed nominations for the two vacant Rajya Sabha seats from Telangana.

Nomination papers were submitted to the Returning Officer of Elections at the Assembly premises in the city.

The term of office of Rajya Sabha members is due to expire on July 21, 2022. The last date for filing of nominations is May 31. Election, if necessary, will be held on June 10. With more than 100 MLAs in 119-member Assembly, the TRS has the required strength to win all the two seats.

While Vaddiraju Ravichandra replaced Banda Prakash who resigned from the Rajya Sabha after he was elected to the Telangana State Legislative Council, the other two Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant because the terms of the sitting TRS Rajya Sabha members V. Laxmikantha Rao and D Srinivas are expiring in June.

Ministers Harish Rao, Sabitha Indra Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Malla Reddy and scores of MLAs and MLCs were present. (Maxim News)
