Defected MLAs Urge CM Revanth Reddy for Development Funds, Discuss Speaker’s Notices

Defected MLAs | Hyderabad, Sept. 8: Nine MLAs met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his residence on Sunday evening, seeking permissions and funds for development works in their constituencies.

The meeting came in the backdrop of the Legislative Assembly Speaker issuing notices to ten MLAs over defection allegations.

Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari could not attend due to illness.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy were also present during the discussions.

Among the MLAs who attended were Danam Nagender, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy, Prakash Goud, Tellam Venkat Rao, Gandhi, Kale Yadayya, Sanjay, and Mahipal Reddy.

Defected MLAs

After the meeting, some legislators clarified to the media that they had contested and won on a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) ticket and remained in the party.

They argued that it is customary for MLAs to meet the Chief Minister and ministers to present constituency issues, request sanction of funds, and push forward development projects.

MLA Prakash Goud stated that while he had received a notice from the Speaker, he had sought an extension of one week to respond.

He added that his meeting with the Chief Minister was also to discuss arrangements for the CM’s upcoming program in Gandipet.

Several MLAs mentioned that they had already informed the Speaker in writing that they were still with the BRS.

Focus on Pending Bills and Local Tensions

During the meeting, the legislators reportedly raised concerns about pending bills related to constituency development works and urged the government to release them at the earliest.

Each MLA is said to have provided the Chief Minister with a list of pending works and new proposals requiring permissions.

The MLAs also flagged issues with local Congress leaders, alleging lack of cooperation and deliberate obstruction in developmental activities.

In response, the Chief Minister is believed to have advised both groups to coordinate and prioritize welfare and development programs.

Apart from development concerns, the discussion also touched upon the notices issued against them for alleged defection. Sources said the Chief Minister spoke individually with each MLA to assess the situation and gather details.
