Dengue, Cancer Bleeding People In State, Jagga Deplores Govt Negligence
Hyderabad, Nov.21 (Maxim News): Congress MLA Thoorpu Jayaprakash Reddy on Thursday alleged that the State government was playing with the lives of the people in the State by not preventing the spread of dengue and cancer diseases. He said two to three members from every family were suffering from dengue fever and many cases were being reported from the slums in the State. He said the dengue victims were forced to spend Rs 60,000 to Rs.1,00,00 for treatment.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, Reddy wondered whether there was Medical & Health department in the State. He demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao include dengue fever in the state-run Aarogyasri cashless health care scheme. He also said he would write a letter to the Chief Minister on the dreaded dengue fever and the problems being faced by the people after being affected by the disease.
He said his party was contemplating to launch Statewide protest programs on the issue if the State government did not react. Commenting on cancer disease status in the State, he said cancer patients were forced to spend Rs one lakh to Rs 20 lakh for treatment. He urged pontiff China Jeeyar Swamy to extend help for treatment of cancer patients by roping in the rich people to set up a trust and extend treatment. He said there were no beds in private hospitals in Sangareddy for treating dengue patients. (Maxim News)
