Team India Pride PM Modi Praises Athletes

Hyderabad, March 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that people should be proud of Team India. He made the statement during the 132nd episode of Mann Ki Baat. He praised the Indian men’s cricket team and highlighted their achievements.

He said that the entire country felt happy when India won the World Cup. Therefore, he stressed that such victories unite the nation. He also noted that the success of Team India brought joy to millions of people across the country.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister spoke about the achievements of Indian athletes in different competitions. He congratulated long distance runner Gulvir Singh for finishing third in the New York Half marathon. He said that Gulvir, who is from Uttar Pradesh, has created history with this performance.

He also praised squash player Anahat Singh for her success. She won the Squash on Fire Open 2026. Moreover, she defeated England’s top seed Georgina Kennedy. He highlighted her talent and achievement.

The Prime Minister added that Anahat Singh has become the youngest Asian player to enter the top 20 in the PSA World Rankings. Therefore, he said that such accomplishments inspire young athletes across the country. He also emphasized the importance of supporting sports and encouraging talent at all levels.
